This idea is to create brick and mortar stores with much lower capital costs than traditional retailers. Variable costs are also lowered. The stores would be competing with convinience stores, which is a high profit margin industry. Unlike convenience stores, however, this type of store allows much greater inventory selection for the customer. Land required for building the stores are greatly reduced as well, not only compared to large stores, but convinience stores as well. This allows for very low barriers to entry for franchisees, coupled with high profits, and therefore healthy royalties. The low barriers to entry should also translate into rapid growth.
This is in the idea stage, but research has been done and positive feedback has been received from multiple university professors, including a venture capitalist. I need someone who can engineer this type of store, and make it work. The technology has already been in use for decades, this is just an extreme form of it. I have ideas for marketing it as well, as a competitor has an idea similar to this, except it does not offer all the advantages that this idea has, and does has not used the idea to its full extent; it is still using the technolody the way it was for decades. However, the target market, locations, and other areas of marketing interest are similar, so information on what works is available.
