It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. However, not everyone has access to that village of support. We are a social network for parents looking to start a co-op in their community.
What is a co-op? Co-ops are independent association of persons who voluntarily cooperate for their mutual social, economic, and cultural benefit. In a parenting co-op groups of parents who take turns caring for one another's kids. Members watch someone else's child to earn credits, then "spend" those points when they need a sitter of their own. They can use the service as little or as often as they want, from simply babysitting to carpooling to meal delivery(lunch, dinner meals on wheels)
Why is this necessary? Every year the cost of raising a child increases. By creating a co-op parents have the opportunity to work with other local parents to reduce the cost of raising a child.
Where do we fit in? We create a space for parents to find/meet each other and form a co-op. Think of it as matchmaking for parental co-ops.
