As a restaurant manager, I often face the problem of having staff shortages. These shortages are split into three categories, urgent, semi urgent, and long term.
Urgent problems include staff calling in sick, and the only solution is PRAY. Semi-urgent problems are when staff schedule a day off, but you don't have back up staff. Less urgent are long term staff shortages.
Current solutions mainly include referals, WOM, advertising, etc.
What I propose is a one stop platform from hire to payroll.
In essence it is like an Uber just that instead of calling a cab, you call a part time staff.
The user isn't a cab rider, but an employer.
After finishing developing the prototype, I will test it in the restaurant I currently manage. It is located in The Chinese University of Hong Kong with student population of 60,000.
After the system is more mature, I will test it in a "learning hotel" next door which also belongs to the school.
Currently I was thinking of using a freemium model OR a advertisement model instead of pay per use.
Previously I had 2 developers who helped me plan out some things, but they we're too occupied with their phds.
Please let me know if you're interested in making this real.
