I saw professional challenges of creative people firsthand in our family when our cousin who was a freelancer sketch artist then could not easily find career and networking opportunities in her field after she got married and moved to a new town where she had no professional contacts. Years later, another family member who was an interior designer at a creative firm then saw her worst fear coming true when she discovered her work portfolio uploaded on a creative site without her consent under someone else’s name. We were surprised to see these situations developing in today’s well-connected age of Facebook and LinkedIn. When we looked deeper into the existing online solutions, we realized some of them were designed keeping white-collar professions in mind and others were social networking sites that provided few features here and there but far from being called a dedicated platform and ecosystem for creative professionals.
The idea is to provide an online professional networking platform for professionals in creative fields to facilitate networking, collaborations and connect with right opportunities. The product is primarily designed for creatives, creative firms, service providers and recruiters.
