Read this interesting take on revolutionary ideas in air travel - https://www.yahoo.com/travel/three-ideas-that-could-change-air-travel-forever-124201386.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw . Then consider Dasherpa.
Hertz meets RentTheRunway for Air Travel.
Imagine the joy of traveling again without the pain of dealing with luggage or carry-ons.
No more $50 checked bag fees.
No more battling for space in the overhead bins.
No more carrying your dirty clothes back home.
How it works: Users log into the dasherpa app and input their arrival time at their destination. They then select the number outfits they'd like to rent, the style (business, casual, exercise), add accessories and a personal care bag.
When the user arrives at their destination they proceed to baggage claim to pick up their dasherpa bag just as they would go to pick up their rental car. At the end of a trip the user just returns the bag and flies home bag-free.
US air travelers spent $1.6 billion on checked bag fees in the first quarter of 2015. Dasherpa will help people avoid those fees, gain access to high-end designer clothing and eliminate the stress associated with battling other passengers for carry-on space.
Revisiting this idea now. I'll need help building some kind of MVP (perhaps even a low-tech solution) and securing stylists and building partnerships with clothing designers.
