Consumer mobile apps leveraging ML and Big Data

As an expert in Machine Learning (ML) and Big Data, I believe an effective Blue Ocean strategy is to leverage these fields in consumer mobile apps, exploiting a wealth of green field opportunities. Currently ML and Big Data are heavily utilized to create business learnings and to power industrial applications, but consumer applications have traditionally been limited as the required expertise is high, scalability has been a challenge, and consumer applications of ML have been less apparent relative to simple content delivery based on search or location.

The major initial uses of ML and Big Data for consumer apps and web services include Netflix's movie recommendation engine and the optimization of search engine results by companies such as Google and Amazon. ML and predictive analytics may be leveraged in a vast number of other consumer-relevant contexts and we are at an ideal time to explore these contexts, as the technological and financial barriers are at a minimum, whereas consumer interest in "smart" apps has been greatly increasing.

Our strategy would be to rapidly prototype, test, and deploy a series of consumer mobile apps which leverage ML in new and unexploited contexts. I will provide expertise in ML, back end application logic, databases, and Big Data, as well as Product Management. Co-founders with expertise in front end design, hybrid mobile development, Swift, Android, graphic design, and middleware, marketing and fundraising will play a key role in the company's success. Co-founders would be expected to commit at least 10h/week during the pre-funding phase. This business has the potential to be successful without VC or other investment funds, however should investor capital be accepted then co-founders may increase their time commitment.
