To me Bitcoin is like Napster, a pioneer in an industry that needs to be taken to the 21st century. However there are some short comings of Bitcoin that is preventing it from growing to mainstream adoption. One short coming is the fact that Bitcoin confuses privacy with anonymity; privacy is required when it comes to finances, but anonymity breads fraud. Another is public perception, from the Silk Road and how to use/mine bitcoins, unless you're tech savvy it's intimidating for your average consumer.
This is why I began this new company, to make a digital currency that is "grandma friendly". One that isn't born or operated in the shadows and takes consumer security to the next level so regulating bodies have nothing to complain about.
I've already begun developing an alpha stage iPhone app and have added 4 people to my board of directors. These guys range from a former COO of a well known media company and former CIO of a well known news company. Another is a US-China Business Development expert with ties to many fortune 500 companies. Another is a former VP of Investor Relations who oversaw the sale of a company for $1.7 Billion dollars. The last board-member is a Hedge-fund manager.
So what I'm looking for right now is a fantastic programmer in the NY area to come on board and help perfect our iOS app and who also has experience in web development to.
