Almost every advertisement (mainly video advertisements) I've ever encountered is seemingly misplaced. As a 22 year old male, it always stuns me to see advertisements for things like women's hair products or retirement accounts. It doesn't bother me as much when I can skip the advertisment after 5 seconds, but nothing is more painful than 30 seconds to a minute of absolutely pointless advertisements that don't match my profile.
The idea is to create a smart advertising platform where users can interact, vote, and give other pertinent feedback in regards to any given advertisement. The way I see it, if I'm going to sit back and be forced to watch an advertisement for 30 seconds, I'd at least like to see something enjoyable or something that I might actually have a genuine interest in.
I think this will be great for advertisers because they will see less wasted advertising money and will see more meaningful conversions. Given today's advertising environment is highly competitive and companies are really looking for the best ways to drive real conversions, I think this is a homerun idea.
