For a while, I’ve been focused on the problems associated with dating apps that use double opt-in matchmaking (e.g. Tinder, Bumble, etc). Most of these will be pretty familiar to anyone that’s used them:
-Poor conversion of matches into dates (e.g. lots of time wasted messaging people you’ll never meet)
-Long response times after you swipe right on someone (i.e. you’re left in limbo not knowing when they’ll see your profile)
I’ve developed an alternative form of matchmaking, something that introduces an additional element of gamification (without being contrived – we’re not talking jigsaw-based dating here) and has the potential to be quite addictive.
I’ve got a clickable prototype at the moment and am approaching the stage of seeking funding (with some expressions of interest already received) – but need the right team in place for this. I’ve spoken with a number of people with a key background in well known dating apps, several of whom are interested and would be willing to assist with advisory roles – but I also need the right co-founders in place.
