I am getting set to launch a modern, technology-focused bridalwear company called Nuorikko. The intent is to change the bride's experience through advanced technologies, including custom fit tools and a build-your-own gown experience to allow her to accurately visualize the garment on her body.
The business idea has gotten some attention and positive feedback from both the startup community as well as bridal boutiques and individual clients.
I am interested in bringing some much-needed disruption to an industry that is worth over $55 billion, but has not evolved in 20+ years. With the retail and greater economic landscapes as they are, I believe this is a perfect time to put forth a business aimed at a tech-savvy bride looking for a shopping experience with better options than what the industry currently offers.
I am seeking a co-founder with experience in online marketing and/or website development. The company's growth plans include a sophisticated ecommerce website featuring several advanced technologies. The technologies exist in the marketplace, so do not need to be built from scratch, but implementing and managing them with the ecommerce platform requires a skill level that is beyond my experience and expertise with web design.
I have 13+ years' experience in the apparel manufacturing industry, including 10 years of a side business designing custom bridal gowns. I have a clear vision for how to execute a mix-and-match product line that makes it easy for the bride to customize her look. Manufacturing will be based in the U.S., and will focus on the importance of quality construction and fit optimized for the modern American woman.
