PowerCube was founded in the Silicon Valley of California after two roommates decided they needed different colors of charging cables so they could tell who bought which one. This led them to develop a product that provides retail consumers with a quality, dependable product which also appeals to the social & fashion aspects of mobile device use.
PowerCube was founded in April of 2012 and managed as a general partnership with the intent of transferring to a LLC before commencement of retail sales. The company has focused on developing an innovative way of looking at charging mobile devices; we want to change the idea of a charging cable from a tool to an accessory. After initial success with trial sales in the San Jose and San Francisco areas we have decided to move forward and launch into full production of our products. Sales will be focused on local retailers in addition to national chains such as Fry’s, Best Buy, Apple online, and distributors like Dr. Bott; coupled with our own online sales platform.
PowerCube will offer four main product lines, each with various products styles. The first product we plan to market will be a LED lit charging cable for Apple and Micro USB mobile devices. The next two product lines are based on a traditional cable design, one will be a heavy duty “PRO” series and the other will be an extra heavy duty “ENTERPRISE” series. We also plan to market a new style of flat cable featuring printed designs along the length of the cable. Our products focus on the social style of using a smartphone by providing the consumer with more options to customize their device; we offer products in various designs and price points to accommodate anyone’s style choices. PowerCube will also offer all products in various lengths to accommodate the individual needs of our customers.
