I am looking
for someone to help me with my idea for a startup
I am good at
Vision. Strategy. Customer/Partner engagement. Schmoozing. Collaborating. Leading. Driving s**t to completion. Operating with integrity. Being clear on my weaknesses. Maintaining a great global network in the start-up ecosystem.
Now I'm passionate about fixing small business lending. It's not only a $1T+ global opportunity, but also a chance to create sustainable impact for millions of small business owners around the world.

Advisor, Marketer, Sales person

half time (20h/week)
Things I have done before
More than 20 years in the valley. Founder/Co-Founder of multiple start-ups with enough success to feel rewarded and enough failure to have learned some tricks and a sense of perspective. Between start-ups I consult to large companies on innovation (yeah, I know...oxymoron) and advise start-ups, mostly for karma, good meals & wine.
Some details:
My first start-up was the progenitor of Blizzard Entertainment. My 2nd one was acquired and put me in a senior executive role to go through an IPO. Another raised $23M during the boom...I got out before the crash and moved to Europe for 3 years. I played, got hired by VCs to do turnarounds, (almost) built the first municipal wifi network in France and interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives and investors to figure how to make DEMO work in Europe.
Since returning to the valley, as co-founder (now board member) of Guidewire Group, I've interviewed & coached thousands of start-ups around the world, and helped many them reach investors, government agencies & corporate customers and acquirers. I also helped run DEMO, Innovate! and www.innotribestartup.com. So I've got a pretty good network and nose for what works. Oh, and I was a principal investor for a NSF grant to develop a method to analyze start-ups at scale...that works.
