Anyone who's read a newspaper or watched a the news in the last 12 months has probably heard policy makers and pundits blathering about how small businesses are the engine of the global economy. But did you know that of the $30B that the US government set aside for small business in 2010, less than 7% has been deployed. And that this shameful performance has been repeated all over the world?
Well, small business finance hasn't fundamentally changed in a long time, and as a result of ineffencies in the lending process, there is an unmet need for over $1 Trillion/year in $10K-$250K small business loans.
I think data-driven lending is the answer. The customers and investors of businesses like www.ondeckcapital.com and www.kabbage.com seem to agree.
I'm looking for some incredibly talented, energetic, fun, high-integrity folks who have figured out that life is too short to work with assholes and who are excited by the idea of making a HUGE, sustainable impact for small business people all over the world.
What are we looking for:
- Product managers with experience in web-apps, consumer or smb finance/mangement and/or banking, finance or risk analysis apps preferred.
- Hackers with experience in cloud-based web-apps, big-data and financial apps.
- Designers with experience in making complex, data rich experiences super simple
You'll join me and one engineer (and a bunch of outstanding advisors) to accelerate development of a prototype and get it in the hands of the investors and partners I've been testing concepts with for the last several months.
